Bell Helmets, pulling inspirational DNA from their XR Spherical helmet, which was launched back in April, means that the new Falcon XR, according to Bell, “shares the same Spherical Technology powered by MIPS, and other characteristics, like deeper road coverage and unmatched cooling, offering all-around performance and value, for nearly any type of riding such as commuting or gravel riding during the day or the night. ”

Add the optional/removable Blackburn Grid rear LED light for those rides at night.

The Marketing Director at Bell, SJ Owen said, “Building off the success of the XR Spherical helmet, cyclists can now enjoy similar industry-leading features such as Mips Evolve in a well-equipped but budget-friendly helmet. With multiple models with and without the Blackburn Grid COB rear light or the visor in the Falcon XRV, cyclists now have a truly versatile go-anywhere-at-any-time helmet.”

Bell says, the Falcon XR line of helmets offers unique model-specific colorways of 24 color options across both the XR and XRV product lines. The line also offers rider-focused comforts like Ionic+ antimicrobial padding, with silver metalized yarn for odor control, the Fidlock buckle system, sweat guide, and No-Twist Tri-Glides straps. The XR line also uses the Fusion In-Mold Polycarbonate Shell, featuring the MIPS Evolve and Bell’s Float Systems.

The Medium XR weighs in at 305 grams.

The Grid charges easily with a USB-C dock. The battery life is estimated to last 1.5 hours on steady mode and up to 15 hours in Eco mode.

The light is available separately for $30.
