BH updated their Ultralight road bike, once again making it more aerodynamic, even as they shave grams away. Now 11% lighter than its predecessor, at less than 700g for the frame. Plus, it also gets a 12% aero drag reduction, care of subtly refined Kamm tails & other tube shaping. The fact that it’s also quite a bit cheaper – from the entry 105 level to the top-tier, UCI-illegal weight Dura-Ace level – is simply icing on the cake.

No more need to pick a lightweight climber’s bike or an aerodynamic sprinter’s bike. Just get one Ultralight.
2027 BH Ultralight and aerodynamic carbon road bike
The new MY27 BH Ultralight looks pretty similar to the version they launched back in 2023 to upgrade the aerodynamic performance of their lightweight road bike. But this new one is both lighter and more aero, developed in CFD together with the University of the Basque Country (EHU). And it’s still as stiff as before, creating a solid all-rounder for fast riding whether heading to the mountains, sticking to the flats, or all the rolling terrain in between.
What else is new?

Dropping the frame under 700g makes the new BH Ultralight one of the lightest production bikes on the market these days. But there are other updates besides its improved aerodynamics, too.

For one, BH finally gives the Ultralight bigger tire clearance. Officially, it’s only 32mm, because of the number of ultrawide rims out there. But they say that most 35mm tires will fit, with their required 6mm clearance between the frame & fork at its closest point.
They’ve also refined the bike’s geometry around a steep 74° seat tube angle for more forward weight balance. And BH claim new super short 405mm chainstays for faster acceleration and a more “direct responsive ride feel”. Although their geometry tables still show the same 410mm stays of the previous generation.

“The result is a bike that moves beyond the traditional concept of a pure climbing machine to embrace a much more versatile approach. The new Ultralight retains weight figures that place it among the lightest road bikes in its category, but now combines this advantage with more efficient aerodynamics, greater integration and clearance for wider tyres. It is designed to accelerate quickly on climbs, but also to maintain high speeds, tackle technical descents and compete effectively on a wide variety of routes.”

2027 BH Ultralight – Pricing, options & availability

The new Ultralight is available on five stock frame sizes (XS-XL), three standard frameset colors (marbled red, crystalline white & raw black carbon), and the BH Unique custom paint program. Four complete builds of the new bike are on offer, all with Shimano Di2 electronic groupsets and all with a new unnamed one-piece carbon integrated Vision cockpit.

The 2027 BH Ultralight 6.0 sells for 5000€ (12% less than the previous generation) with 105 Di2 and Vision TC45 carbon wheels. At 7000€, the Ultralight 7.0 upgrades to Ultegra Di2 and SC45 wheels. Then, at 7500€, the Ultralight 8.0 adds a powermeter crankset to the Ultegra groupset, and includes the Planck taillight. Plus, the 8.0 adds BH’s own new 1350g Evo Stealth 55mm deep, 23mm internal carbon wheels with aero-bladed carbon spokes and ceramic bearings.

At the top-tier, the 8500€ BH Ultralight 9.0 gets a Dura-Ace group, the BH Evo Stealth wheels, and the Planck taillight. That’s a 15% lower price than the same spec level four years ago, and now in a bike that claims a complete weight of just 6.7kg (size S, without pedals).

The new bikes will be available in BH dealer bike shops starting in November, while custom-painted BH Unique bikes would start shipping at the end of January.
