Bosch eBike Systems has announced that they now have a new, free Smart Systems update. We covered the features of the Smart System and the introduction of the Flow App back in 2021. With this latest update to Bosch System’s Smart System, they say that the “physical and digital eBike riding experiences are increasingly merging together”.
The highlights of this update include:
- eMTB and Tour+ riding modes are now customizable
- Extended map details provide additional navigation information
- eBike Flow App is now available in four additional languages.
Customizable eMTB and Tour+ Modes
By using the eBike Flow App, eBikers now have the option to adapt both eMTB and Tour+ riding modes to fit their personal riding style. With the enhanced navigation functions, you can have even more individualized route planning.
eMTB Mode
“The eMTB mode from Bosch eBike Systems adapts to support the eBike rider in every eMTB situation – dynamically, progressively and with maximum sensitivity. Users can now make further adjustments via the settings in the eBike Flow app, giving them the opportunity to change dynamics, strength, speed or torque, and to what degree, within the mode”.
Tour+ Mode
“For the Tour+ riding mode, the same opportunities for personalization are available with the update. By fine-tuning the parameters, eBikers can now ride even more efficiently, reducing the maximum assisted speed and thus extending their battery life. Other Bosch riding modes Race, Sport, Cargo, Turbo, Auto, Tour, and Eco can already be customized”.
The new navigation functions allow more precise route planning. With the latest update of the Bosch eBike Systems they say there are enhanced navigation functions that promise even more precise route planning.
In addition to the route profiles for daily rides (Daily), pleasure rides (Leasure), and eMTB trails (eMTB), there is now a new “Speed” profile Speed Pedelecs. This calculates routes that can be ridden with S-pedelecs.
In addition to the route profiles, Bosch map detail variants, “Satellite”, MTB Trails, and the new “eBike Heatmap”. The latter shows the routes most regularly used by eBike riders.
The eMTB Trails show the eMTB rider where nearby mountain bike trails are and their level of difficulty. The Satellite map provides a better overview and more precise information regarding the user’s surroundings. all of these map variants can easily be selected in all route profiles.
In addition to the integration of the new features, the eBike Flow App is now available in Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Czech.
The new update can be downloaded directly from the Flow App. The Flow App is available for download via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
