FABike has taken their flexible, adjustable do-it-all road & gravel bikes and given them a thorough update. The new bikes bring drivetrain adjustability from 1x or 2x geared setups to belt-drive singlespeeds to all surfaces in both carbon & titanium, with the most current brake and axle standards in mind. And of course that is Vadolibero’s super premium Bike Shelf wood storage cabinet, but they have another more affordable display for your bike too…
FABike C3 carbon adjustable road & gravel bike
The flexible, adjustable bike line is all about adjustability so that still remains, but now the carbon frame gets a new modular vertical dropout solution (vs. the previous slider design) with a split driveside seatstay for belt compatibility that also allows them to go with a clean chainstay located flat mount rear brake. To manage tension, the bike gets an eccentric bottom bracket like the last generation titanium bike. It lets you use a standard Press Fit bottom bracket if you choose a geared setup. It’s also still compatible with a double drivetrain thanks to a removable braze-on style front derailleur mount and modular internal cable routing.
So that bike rack is the latest way to display your bike in the living room. Called the Bike Butler NEOS, the futuristic pod is still a whopping 1600€. But that does make it the most ‘affordable’ self standing display rack they offer. Vadolibero.com
The modular rear dropout means that you can bolt a rear derailleur hanger on for geared setups. But it also made it easy for FABike to add a 12mm thru-axle rear end to the carbon frame, while allowing the flexibility to offer QR dropouts for those wanting to stick with existing wheelsets. Tire clearance will be the same as on the previous version. Although this pre-production bike seemed like it hadn’t yet got that memo.
FABike T2 titanium carbon adjustable road & gravel bike
The titanium version of the bike gets several updates as well for version 2. The bike uses a larger diameter headtube for a cleaner flush mount headset. (That includes an integrated spacer to maintain the ideal geometry when paired with the shorter overall road fork option.) This bike has a custom painted fork, stem and matching bar tape for a little Belgian theme. That won’t be a standard option. But we’ve already heard FABike talk about offering custom paint jobs from their European base before. So it might be worth asking if you order a new bike?
FABike also updated the rear triangle of the new T2 bike with fastback seatstays and no bridge thanks to new tapered tubing. That gave them the comfort they wanted without the dropped seatstay look. Here the bike can also still run a band clamp front derailleur thanks to a round seattube.
12mm thru-axles also bump up the new T2 thanks to the modular dropout design. It is again belt-drive ready thanks to the hidden split in the driveside seatstay, that you might not even notice from the outside.
On the other side, a new one-piece machined non-driveside dropout includes the new flat mount for the chainstay mounted disc brake caliper.
Of course both carbon and ti bikes get new thru-axle, flat mount disc brake forks to match. FABike continues to offer the bikes with both the shorter axle-to-crown R road forks to clear something like a 27mm road tire, or the longer X cross fork to clear up to a 35mm tire with a bit more tread.
