Now that cross has begun and we’ve had another few week of cold & wet riding in Europe, we’re starting to think about staying comfortable on the bike in the coming months. Endura is having similar thoughts, too. They’ve just announce new Pro SL Thermal winter kit, adding a bit of navy & hi-viz orange to fight those all-black winter blues. Working with a breadth of riders from their Movistar road pros to more local heroes like previous Scottish Hill Climb Champ Walter Hamilton, Endura have updated a pro level kit to keep warm riding though the cold of winter.

Pro SL Classics Jersey II

The new £150 Pro SL Classics II is a breathable windproof & waterproof short-sleeved softshell jersey developed especially for the Spring Classics campaigns of the Movistar pros. But what keeps skinny Spanish road pros warm in the spring, will keep the rest of us rolling through the winter too.

The adaptable Jersey comes with a set of arm warmers that use the same stretchy ExoShell25ST fabric to make for a top that can work in a wide range of conditions. While the short sleeves are longish (covering the bicep), the armwamers look to be relatively short, possibly making them only really suited for use with this type of 3/4 sleeve jersey/jacket. The armies do get some extra silicone grippers (inside & out) to help them stay in place as you ride.

Slightly heavier than the first edition of the Classics jersey, the new one is even better suited when the weather turns foul. It gets an extended drop tail, a new full-length storm flap behind the zip, and a pre-formed shape optimized for on the bike fit. The three pockets out back get laser cut drain holes, plus a fourth sealed zippered pockets. You get the new Pro SL Classics Jersey II in the navy blue & orange, or the more reserved all black, but both versions include reflective trim to increase visibility.

Pro SL Primaloft Jacket

We’re seeing more Primaloft insulation in autumn & winter jackets, and Endura is pulling the same light and fast drying Primaloft Gold that they had in a vest to this new jacket. Insulated on the chest, back & front of the sleeves, the new £130 Pro SL Primaloft Jacket promises to keep riders warm under a windproof shell.

Lighter than a proper winter jacket or even a heavier insulating layer, it should make for a good transition jacket that can even be packed down and stuffed in a jersey pocket for rides that warm up midday.

The only-in-black Primaloft Jacket gets a stretchy windproof fabric on the side panels and backs of the sleeves for a close fit, plus laser cut perforations for improved venting. It gets a non standard pocket layout with a larger center zipped pocket that can be used as a stuff sack, plus two smaller open elastic pockets for a phone or snacks.

Pro SL Biblong

Rounding out the revised winter kit is a slightly updated £160 Pro SL Biblong that works with Endura’s three width 700-series chamois pads into a set of long bib tights to get you through the cold months. It was actually a new set of tights lat year, and now just gets a slightly updates cut with a few extra leg panels for better articulation.

Pro SL Winter

A few other items round out the Pro SL Winter collection and each get the navy & orange option. There’s the light packable three-layer Pro SL Shell Jacket, the self-explanatory Pro SL Thermal Windproof Jacket, plus new £30 neoprene Pro Nemo Gloves & £33 neoprene Deluge Zipless Overshoes that will keep fingers & toes cozy when it inevitably gets cold & wet.
