Magura’s Customize Your Brake program continues into 2021 with more brake configurations to chose from than ever. Noteworthy is a new more affordable (allegedly) Magura MT HC Wide Reach Lever based on the Loic Bruni signature 3D printed blade.

Also new to the line-up is an array of new centre-locking brake rotors, a custom handlebar clamp for pairing your Magura MT brakes with Shimano i-Spec EV shifters, and more! Let’s dive in.

Magura MT HC Wide Reach Lever Blade

Loosely based on the weight-optimized 3D printed Loic Bruni HC Lever, the new HC Wide Reach Lever Blade will be a budget option die cast aluminium version. The HC-W is optimized for large hands and offers a wide range of reach adjustment via an Allen head.

Two options are available; one for Carbotecture and the other for Carbotecture SL brake masters. So, the HC-W is compatibility with all Magura MT disc brakes for model year 2015 and later. No pricing on this as of yet.

Centre-lock Magura MDR-C Rotors

Last year, Magura introduced the MDR-C and MDR-P rotors, adding a whopping 220mm option for the latter boasting high heat resistance and high braking power. The lighter 6-bolt MDR-C is optimized for use on e-bikes thanks to a more rigid center section designed to reduce vibration.

Now Magura are adding a centre-lock version of the MDR-C to increase the rotor’s compatibility with a wider range of hubs. It is also now available in a 160mm option, in addition to 180mm and 203mm. The two-piece MDR-P rotor is now also available in a 180mm option. Again, no pricing information available yet.

On the topic of rotors, Magura are now offering a sensor magnet that fits their STORM HC 180mm, MDR-C and MDR-P rotors. It is for use on e-bikes on which the wheel speed sensor is located on the rotor.

Shiftmix 4 Handlebar Clamp

Magura have also added a new handlebar clamp that allows riders to run their Magura MT brakes with a Shimano i-Spec EV shifter. If you’re running the latest 12 speed XTR, XT or SLX shifters from Shimano then you’ll likely need one of these to pair it with a Magura brake. Left and right versions of the Shiftmix 4 are available for $42.
