If you don’t want to sacrifice comfort for bike feel, Herrmans’ new Shark Lock grips might give you the bite you need without stuffing your mitts full of rubber. The Shark Locks use a dual density construction with a soft, grippy outer layer that’s nubbed and ridged to maximize grip in all conditions, but they claim it’s the thinnest locking grip on the market…

There’s no diameter specified on their website, so we asked U.S. importer Cantitoe Road to measure and they came back with 27.9mm in their calipers. Length is 130mm and claimed weight is 42g. The design is left and right specific, with hypo-allergenic compound that’s free of latex, natural rubber, phthalates and PAH. The grip comes in black only for $19.95, but you’ll have your choice of lock ring colors in some markets.

Hermanns makes nice grips. phthalate free and non-toxic these are certainly better than the cheap-o chinese grips most brands put their labels on.

Too bad no one in the States knows them….good stuff.
