The Otso Voytek is already one of our favorite fat bikes, so how do you make it better? You can start by murdering it out. Then add in an incredible build kit that adds up to a sub 23lb bike, and you have what could be one of the most ‘Ultimate’ fat bikes available.

Starting with their Voytek frameset that offers up to 4.6″ tire clearance while maintaining one of the narrowest Q-Factors available, Otso gave the Ultimate a gloss black on matte finish with a few special details like a blacked out head badge and message under the top tube.

The gloss/matte treatment continues on the fork and the seat stays for an understated look that still has plenty of detail.

To go along with the Stealth look, the bike has a blacked out parts group with a mix of components that build on the black uber carbon theme. The SRAM X01 drivetrain includes a Race Face Next SL crank, Wolf Tooth Camo System chainring and cassette extender, Magura MT8 brakes, and a high end Race Face cockpit and all of the WTC accessories.

The bike rolls on Industry Nine Big Rid 825 wheels with HED carbon rims and I9 hubs and spokes. IB17: The Ultimate Fat Bike? Otso Voytek Ultimate is a blacked out 22lb monster IB17: The Ultimate Fat Bike? Otso Voytek Ultimate is a blacked out 22lb monster

Other details include a custom WTB Volt Otso saddle, and Schwalbe 26 x 4.0″ Jumbo Jim tires, though Otso says select substitutions can be made.

All together, this large frame with two B-Rad accessories on the downtube and a RockShox Reverb dropper came in at 22.82lbs. Without a dropper and the B-Rad stuff, Otso says they’ve weighed in under 22lbs.

Priced at $8,099 for the complete build shown here (no dropper post or B-Rad accessories),  Voytek Ultimates should be available in October and will be sold in addition to the standard two colors.

If these guys manage to sell more than one unit of this unnecessary monstrosity, I will loose my faith in humanity.

You’ve gotta start taking the pills again….

It’s just another bike. A sub 22 lb fatbike with no crazy secret German lab weight weenie parts but stuff you can get off the shelf. Yes, expensive, but so is any high end carbon bike (it’s cheaper than a Specialized S-Works).

I don’t love the murdered out look but that’s the point, it’s my taste and if that’s to someones taste, they’ve done a good job in realizing it. Unnecessary monstrosity about to undermine the very fabric of society? Maybe, ‘cos riding it would fun, make me smile like a child, wouldn’t want that to happen now.

I like it. I built a light weight chiner with upscale stuff and it cost me 5.5 k, so 7 0r 8 is in line for a factory bike.

I built one of these with a Fox 34, I9 Back Country 360 27.5+ wheels. It is under 24 lbs and it is a trail shredder. Love this bike!

Not that impressed. I have an ICAN SN01 Fatbike with 120mm Bluto fork, Next SL crankset, Eagle drivetrain, ICAN 90mm carbon wheelset, and KS dropper post … Total weight is 24 pounds. With pedals.

BTW I ride the bike everywhere.

Love seeing bikes like these. After riding my Stache for a year I’m convinced that + and fat will start to be experimented with in XC racing and become more commonplace in trail platforms. Weight is the downside, but builds like this seem to blur the line of what tool is right for what job.

Ultimate fat bike? Hardley. For 8,000 bucks you get a bike that cannot run full size fat bike tires….

I built mine from a china carbon company. It’s 24 lbs with 4.8″ tires and cost a whole lot less than $8000. I’ve also heard of folks having issues denting the HED rims.

Great company out of Minneapolis – Otso/Wolftooth guys – who are a game-changer bunch that create great products. I demoed a Voytek for a weekend last year in the 29+ format. It was incredible! When I get bored of my Stache this will be its replacement.
Definitely a much better frame than the Chinese crap everyone seems to brag about on here. At sub 23lbs this thing must be a burner!!
