Ibis has added a little aftermarket trickery to its very popular Mojo HD carbon hucking frame.

Originally built around 160mm of travel to satisfy the likes of Brian Lopes, they’ve now made it possible to use the HD’s frame and drop the rear travel to 140mm. The frame stays the same, but the new “Limbo Chips” used to mount the front of the shock, along with a shorter shock, lets the package come in about 0.1 lb lighter, putting the frame weight at 6.1lbs rather than 6.2lbs.

Since the HD 160 uses fatter 36mm stanchion fork legs, by putting a 150mm fork with narrower 32mm stanchions on it, you drop more weight while retaining the stiffness of the HD. By swapping the shock, Limbo Chips and fork, the geometry lands somewhere between the Mojo SL (also 140mm travel, just not as stiff of a frame) and the Mojo HD 160mm.

Frame price is $2,399, same as the HD 160, and two build kits are being finalized now. You’ll have to order the frame configured as either 140mm or 160mm, but you can get the chips separately to convert a frame you already have.

Other news:

  • The Mojo and Mojo SL are merging and will just be the Mojo SL. Price drops to $2,149, and it’ll be available in matte clear carbon, white, Trans Blue, Eddy Orange and Nuclear Pesto.
  • The Hakkalugi cyclocross bike gets a new Black Lung matte clearcoat color option…no word on whether the name is homage to carbon manufacturing processes. Pic after the break…
