Last year, Mondraker introduced the Arid, the brand’s very first stab at a dedicated gravel bike. Aside from the Dusty, this was Mondraker’s entry into a category that wasn’t squarely “mountain bike.” And the Arid is only their second offering with drop bars, behind the Dusty e-gravel bike.
Now, Mondraker is taking the Arid one step further, providing a fully customizable build to their European customers. Along with a custom build comes a custom paint job that, as you may have guessed, makes this new Arid very exclusive – Custom Unlimited Eclipse-exclusive.
Mondraker Goes Gravel
There are certain things about Mondraker bikes that make them distinctly, well, a Mondraker. Along with sleek lines and crisp angles, many Mondraker mountain bikes have a geometric hole near the headtube.
The brand carried this signature tradition to the rear of the Mondraker Arid, with triangular holes at the seat stay and seat tube junction. This cutout not only adds style points, but Mondraker also says it helps with a bit of vertical flex.
Mondraker also featured relatively forward-thinking geometry, with longer reaches and overall size. Taken from the mountain biking side, a greater length added stability when things get rough and more technical. It also provides a more comfortable position, as Mondraker designed the Arid to be a gravel racer as much as a multiday bikepacking machine.
The bike also saw some other features standard with the brand’s mountain bike background. Things like internal frame storage, a 1x-only drivetrain, UDH compatibility, and wider (50mm) tire clearance.
Mondraker Arid Carbon Unlimited Eclipse
Now, one year later, the brand goes fully custom with its new Arid Carbon Unlimited Eclipse frame series. This limited frame is only available in Europe and features a custom paint job, along with other features and tweaks not seen on the Mondraker Arid.
With the limited-edition Arid frameset, Mondraker boasts: “This is your invitation to craft something truly personal. No presets. No limits. Just potential.”
Blue Lab Paint Studio
The Mondraker Arid Carbon Unlimited Eclipse is painted in the brand’s Blue Lab studio. Each frame gets the Eclipse finish treatment, which Mondraker says is much more than just a color. The paint is light-reactive and dynamic, shifting and seemingly changing as the bike moves. The frame is highlighted with a high-gloss finish that boasts a stunning, deep brilliance from every angle.
Stealth Air Carbon Fork
When the Arid was released a year ago, the bike was spec’d with Mondraker’s Stealth Air fork. For the Arid Carbon Unlimited Eclipse frames, Mondraker uses an evolved version of the Stealth Air Carbon fork, with a sleeker profile, saving 60 grams.
Mondraker Arid Carbon Unlimited Eclipse Details
Mondraker is offering these frames as fully customizable to an exclusive set of European customers. Those wishing to build their dream Mondraker Arid will need to collaborate with a select Mondraker dealer.
Aside from a few select components, customer can choose every detail on their Unlimited Eclipse. Aside from the Stealth Air Carbon fork, every Mondraker Arid Carbon Unlimited Eclipse frame comes fully equipped with:
- Front & rear thru-axles (12×100 F / 12×142 R)
- ONOFF S9 carbon seatpost
- ONOFF headset
- ONOFF stem
- SRAM UDH derailleur hanger
