Just in time for some winter riding, Colorado’s Moots Cycles has included their Forager Fatbike in the available prebuilt offerings. You can now get the prebuilt Forager with a full Shimano XT build, see below for build details.
Forager production is complete, and a limited number of complete Forager builds are available directly through Moots or select dealers. Once these overlanding, winter-crushing machines are gone, they’re gone for good.
The Forager is not just for cold surfaces, it would be a worthy companion on any bikepacking or adventure ride you can think of. Moots says they’ve “taken everything we’ve learned from building fat bikes for over 20 years and combined all of that knowledge into our most advanced offering in this category“.
So, it seems that either fresh snow, hard-pack snow, sand, or soft dirt, no surface should be left off the list with this beast of a bike.
The Forager frame has enough clearance to run a 27.5×4.5″ tire and includes fat bike standards like 197mm rear spacing, 120mm bottom bracket shell, and a boosted fork.
The frame build for the Forager uses a proprietary, double-butted top and down tube in the largest tube diameters that Moots has. This detail means that the Forager is the “strongest, stiffest, and best tracking fat bike the brand has ever made”.
