2013 Pinarello Dogma XC 29er hardtail mountain bike teaser

Details are pretty much nonexistent for this one, but Pinarello’s South African distributor, ASG Sports, has teased a foray into modern mountain bikes for the Italian brand.

Apparently dubbed the Pinarello Dogma XC 29er, we’re guessing it takes their asymmetric frame design and applies it to a carbon fiber hardtail race bike. The image above is found on ASG Sports’ Facebook page. Click the image to enlarge and you’ll see it’s coming September 2012. More as we get it.

Great, another prohibitively expensive carbon hardtail 29er…

@Christophe:
Those don’t look like 29ers.

I have been following the trail of the elusive potential 29er carbon Pinarello frame for about a year and a half and actually saw a production slick about that long ago. Word on the street is they may be available in the US this summer. I was under the impression the frame would have Paris level carbon though.

@burt
They could be 29ers. Hard to tell in photos sometimes. Those are dullies though and that wouldn’t make too much sense unless Pinarello seriously developed ONLY their full suspension design which wouldn’t make much sense because they already have such a good platform with rigid bikes in their road models that they could use to develop hardtails as opposed to dullies. That’s just my 2 cents, but then again, it is solely up to Pinarello and they very well could be releasing these bikes to the public. As for me, I just say, it doesn’t matter what you got. Pedal your bike. That’s all that really matters.
