If the Halo Build has you teetering on the edge of “Add to Basket”, I would recommend you teeter no longer. The REEB Cycles Limited Edition Deep Purple SST Trail Bike is extremely limited edition; only one build of each size – S, M L & XL – is available, each retailing at $11,895 USD.
The REEB SST debuted last year as the Colorado brand’s first foray into the trail bike segment, the new steel frame slotting into the lineup between the adaptable longer-travel Sqweeb (best bike name ever) and the Ridikyelous Hardtail. Rear wheel travel of 120mm is delivered via a flex-pivot suspension linkage making use of flattened chainstays. That’s paired with a 140mm fork with the chassis rolling on a complete 29″ wheelset to give a head tube angle of 65.5°, seat tube angle of 76°, and a reach of 460mm in Medium. Chainstays are 435mm, consistent across the size range, with a BB drop of 30mm.
For the Limited Edition “Halo Build”, the 4130 Chromoly Steel SST frame is lathered in a Deep Purple with a black anodized cnc-machined rocker. Guaranteeing its head-turner status is the Cane Creek Helm MKII Sunburst fork.
What else do you get for your $11,895 USD?
A SRAM XX1 AXS drivetrain (in gold of course), Cane Creek eeWings crankset with a 32T Wolf Tooth chainring, a custom Industry Nine Trail 280c wheelset fitted with Vittoria Mazza 2.4″ Trail tires, and TRP Trail EVO 4-piston Brakes. Rounding out the look is an Industry Nine A35 stem, a Wolf Tooth anodized seatpost collar with titanium hardware (both gold-anodized), a brushed stainless head badge and silver/clear decal kit. REEB say the Deep Purple colorway has just a “hint of metallic and a magical almost-chameleon-but-maybe-not-WTF-is-happening effect”.
“We’re blown away by how many of our customers are using the SST frame as a canvas for their dream builds. Drawing inspiration from that vibe we put together a single size run of Deep Purple SSTs to showcase our custom finish capabilities and highlight the amazing components available from some of our North American industry partners.” says Engineer, Steve Ziegler. “The project started when Cane Creek dropped the limited edition Sunburst Helm MKII… we saw those and knew we wanted to do something wild. We’ve been insanely busy shipping customer bikes so it took us a while to have bandwidth to complete these, but looking at them now it was absolutely worth the wait. The Deep Purple builds feature all the best parts available from our friends at Cane Creek, I9, and Wolf Tooth and the REEB Crew knocked the paint and finish work out of the park.”
Can’t argue with that.
