Made official a couple of summers ago, Reynolds’ all-terrain road carbon ATR gravel bike wheels now get their highest level of spec with a Blacklabel series upgrade. First debuted for mountain bike wheels, the black label name mean a premium wheel build with top-tier hubs & spokes laced to Reynolds’ already premium carbon rims…

For your gravel bike, two new Reynolds ATR BlackLabel wheelsets give the choice of 700c or 650b wheels. Both are built for the rough & tumble mixed-surface riding of gravel & adventure, and are laced up to black Industry Nine hubs made especially for Reynolds for straight-pull lacing.

Those hubs appear to be based on the previous Industry Nine Torch MTB standard offering 120 points of engagement (POE) via 6, phased pawls for a quick 3° between pedal stroke and forward movement. Note: They are not i9’s newest 690 POE Hydra MTB hubs, nor the new 90 POE 101 MTB hubs that are phasing out Torch MTB, or even the current 60 POE Torch Road hubs that Industry Nine builds into their own gravel wheels.

Both ATR BlackLabel wheelsets share Reynolds PR3 rim tech that tailors fiber & resin use separately to the bead, bed & sidewall. For both rim diameters, the ATR BlackLabel wheels share the same tubeless-ready 23mm internal hooked rim profile, 32mm wide outside & 40mm deep for a blunt semi-aero shape.

The Reynolds rims are laced to Industry Nine hubs with aero Sapim CX Ray straight-pull spokes, 20x up front & 24x in the rear. The hubs get centerlock rotor mounts, and are available with 12 or 15mm front & 12x142mm rear thru-axles. QR or 12x135mm kits are also available separately.

The Reynolds ATR BlackLabel wheelsets both sell for the same $2100, with a claimed weight of 1456g for 650b, and 1525g for 700c. Both include a lifetime warranty, plus Reynolds’ 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

I have had my ATR’s for a few years and love them. My favorite wheel set for sure. Bomb proof. I beat these up in less than optimum conditions and these wheels never disappoint. Maybe time for another set with my favorite hub now as well.
