This year at Eurobike, Shimano reveals the invigoration of its upcoming Spring-Summer 2025 shoe lineup of value-packed performance and entry-level road shoes. The highlight of the new lineup is the addition of Shimano’s hallmark S-PHYRE technology and style at a new price point.

Shimano says that with the reimaged lineup, we’ll see seamless fits and improved construction for comfort and control for long days in the saddle. There are also more women-specific models and sizes at every price point.

The 702s look like a great shoe for the money. Unfortunately for me, Shimano’s last is way too voluminous to fit the way a proper race shoe should. Way back, the R320 was a great fit, but starting with the R321, the fit seemed to get progressively sloppier. I have a pair of 901s that I loved until I tried Spec S7 shoes. Also have a pair of older XC7s that might as well be plastic bags on my feet.
