SRAM, looking to title a major road race, has signed on as the official sponsor of the Tour of the Gila bicycle stage race in Silver City, New Mexico.  A five-day stage race running from April 29 – May 3, the event is one of the most challenging early season races.
Even though it’s been around for 23 years, like many events in this economy, the Tour of the Gila was facing economic struggles.  “SRAM has given this race security for the next several years and, with their increasing popularity in the peloton, we can only anticipate growth for our event.  And SRAM’s professional neutral race support, along with their great team relationships, make them a perfect long-term parter,” stated Jack Brennan, race director.
