Wheelie poppers rejoice! The new Sunset Bar handlebar from the Minnesota bike deviants, Surly Bikes, is both wide (820mm) and tall (110mm rise). This new bar resembles a huge, wide BMX bar that would be perfect for cyclists who prefer an upright riding position.

The New Sunset Bars are a play on the earlier Sunrise Bars that Surly released back in 2019. But, when Surly set out to make this bar with more back sweep, upsweep, and rise.

Being upright and durable, this bar would be great for that old 90s MTB with low stack height or a low steer tube that you’ve been eyeballin’ in the corner of the garage. Or even for a bike put together solely with spare parts out of the “magic parts bin” in the other corner of the garage.

The Sunrise Bar Details

The Sunset Bar is constructed with 4130 Chromoly Custom-Butted Steel tubing for enhanced strength and comfort. It’s finished in an anti-rust Black ED coat for a long product life.

Bringing comfort, style, and durability using a more upright position that boasts 110mm of rise. In addition, the bar also has 22 degrees of back sweep, with 14 degrees of up sweep.

The Sunset Bar is tested to comply with ASTM 3 and ISO Mountain Standards for “rowdy trail riding and beyond”.
