Truvativ just debuted some new 35mm bars & a direct mount stem for Downhillers over the summer. But now they are bringing bigger bars to more enduro & trail riders with a more broad Descendant 35mm offering.
Descendant 35mm trail mountain bike stem
At the heart is a new 35mm aluminum stem, 3D forged from 7075 alloy. Then Truvativ machines it down to drop some weight while retaining stiffness. The result is a good looking, affordable, lightweight stem tough enough for any kind of trail riding scenario you can throw it down.
The new Descendant 35mm stem sells for $65/70€ (all EU pricing including VAT) The 0mm ride stem comes in 40, 50 & 60mm lengths, with weights ranging from 126-146g.
Descendant 35mm mountain bike bars
Of course we need matching, larger clamping area Descendant bars to go with that new stem. The $180/198€ Carbon DH Riser bar at 800mm wide and weighing 230g already debuted back in June. At the same time there was a matching $70/79€ Aluminum DH Riser bar with the same 25mm rise, 5º up & 9º back sweep. And both have been available since July.
Descendant Colab 35mm special edition bars
But Truvativ has been doing special edition Colab bars for quite a while that highlight top pros and Troy Lee Designs. So that’s what we need more of in 35mm.
Descendant Colab Troy Lee Designs
The Descendant Colab Troy Lee Designs bars include a $199/223€ Carbon Bar in gloss black with red & gold with 20mm rise. Then the $99/111€ 7050 alloy Aluminum Bar in blue & yellow or black, red & gold with 25mm rise. Each of them is available in either 760 or 800mm widths, and also include the same TLD sticker packs to customize your RockShox 35mm stanchion forks too.
Descendant Colab – Pro Riders
Pro riders Jérôme Clémentz & Kyle Strait also get their signature bars updated to 35mm as well. Clementz gets his green accents on the $170/189€ special edition Carbon bar with 20mm of rise, 5º up, 7º back & 760mm wide at just 192g.
Strait on the other hand gets the wider & cheaper 800mm $80/87€ eagle bar with 25mm of rise, 5º up, 7º back sweep at 320g.
All of the new 35mm stems & bars will be available through regular SRAM/Truvativ channels from the beginning of January 2018.
