Air-Liner Protect Insert – What is it?
The Vittoria Air-Liner Protect inserts are fairly lightweight inserts that help riders save their rims from trail abuse, avoid flats (or run flats), ride lower pressure, and round out abrasive trail conditions. The Air-Liner Protect inserts are popular in the cross-country scene (I love them personally) because of their ease of installation and overall low weight. The Air-Liner Protect now expands to trail and e-bike-specific categories, offering a lightweight package and protection.
What makes them different from the cross-county offering? Considering the difference in usage, the trail and e-Bike Air-Liner Protect inserts employ a different design aimed at larger-volume tires. There is no evidence that the new liner’s composition differs from the previous one; the volume change and sizing are notable differences.
Enhancing Ride Experience
Tire liners do more than prevent rim destruction. They help riders in several ways. I notice light vibration dampening, more lateral support in corners (under lower pressure), and less (or zero) tire folding.
The Same But Different
Vittoria Air-Liner Protect inserts are multiple, and riders have tons of choices. That said, the Trail and e-bike inserts are two different designs aimed at each’s specific demands. Both use the Vittoria foam insert (sizes varied) and the 40mm Vittoria valves that work in tandem with the foam insert.
