With one heads-up display on the market from Recon and another in development from Solos, Everysight is bringing all of their jet fighter technology to differentiate themselves in the cycling industry.

The upcoming Raptor eyewear not only appears to push the info out into your field of view, and all without anything obstructing your view. It’s made by Israeli tech company Eibit Systems, and the full details comes out next week. In the meantime, check some screen grabs from the video showing various heads up visuals below…

still one of the best looking ones so far.. but the video shows only fake stuff, so i guess it doesnt work yet even to the level they want.

I’d have a go at using it for sure, be interesting to see if it would be a hindrance when mountain biking though

Too much information at high-speed. I don’t need to know what direction I’m going from a visual display. I don’t need to know my heart rate going downhill either. It all looks cool but will be limited for our application.

Would be nice if they have an os which you can use to customize. E.g. if i can setup in downhill road riding i just want a small map in shape of a line, and if i go uphill my wattage and HR pops up and distance to top, or something like that. With all of these things, the idea is easy, the execution is different story, Ill wait to judge this product, untill they have something tangible. About the technologie, if the headsup display is functional, its only a matter of time.

This is the real deal, but I keep looking at the pics and asking myself, do I *need* all this information?

For athletes training yes, but other than that, just don’t see the need. Of course, if I had to spend money on something.

It won’t matter at all if it’s being put behind gas station quality fit + lenses.

if that is a clip-on, I am interested. Recon’s diminuitive bottom-right screen is not for me.

This is what I thought the Recon Jet would be like, but sadly, it’s not.

I think Elbit makes fighter jet electronics so they should know what theyre doing regarding heads up displays

My concern would be that projected info of limited use may obscure that small rock in the middle of the road which could cut your tire down. Same goes for MTB. I think these displays have much more use in aircraft where tactical awareness is paramount. On a bike I don’t need to know power output, speed or directional heading, I need to know about that gopher, rock, root or tree branch.

Tom,
Seems like natural selection at work.

Too small, it needs to be integrated with the Wide-Eyez face shield!

I particularly like the gpx track overlay featured above. Battery life will again be the main issue. However, I see no reason, in the interim, why a wire leading to a hip mounted fuel pack couldn’t be made. Many headtorches use external power sources.

The Israelis are seriously into their mountain biking and many of these cyclists work in the tech industry. Don’t be suprised to see more innovation from them in the future.
