All good things must come to an end, right? For bike building and tire legend Bruce Gordon, that means it’s almost time to retire. Stating that he will be 69 in June, the purveyor of the Rock ‘n Road tire is looking for someone to purchase Bruce Gordon Cycles. That seems to include the name, the tools, and all of the products except the tires (which he says he will continue to sell). Think you have what it takes to carry on Bruce’s legacy? One of my favorite people I’ve ever met in the cycling biz. His rock n road tires are the best tires for monstercross bikes out there, a tire he brought to market in the 80s long before “gravel” bikes or 29ers or monstercross.
Bruce is the OG for sure. I’ve seen his collection of bikes, that alone is worth some big $$$$.
Mr Gordon is a truly a legend. In India, I first read about his bikes in an old (American) cycling magazine – possibly in an article called Keepers of the Flame about American custom frame builders. I also remember advertisements in old biking magazines with a black and white photograph of a seat cluster of one of his frames. All the best Bruce, you created beautiful frames and are a part of bicycling history.
