The UK-based bike show, Bespoked “the world’s longest-standing handmade bike show”, has opened applications for its first Central European show. This year’s central European edition of the show will be held in Dresden, Germany in hopes of building a thriving culture of small independent bicycle manufacturers as it has in the UK over the last decade.
Bespoked aims to “celebrate and elevate independent bicycle makers, and build a culture around the craft of small-scale bicycle manufacturing.” by showcasing some of the best work in the world by these small builders. They will be presenting handmade bikes, and related brands to new audiences in Central Europe while working to promote diversity and inclusivity within our community.
Bespoked says it’s not only a platform for some of the most unique and exciting bicycles in the world, they also say that its’ been a cultural hub for small independent bicycle manufacturers and larger brands that make high-end supplementary components.
“There are hundreds of small, independent manufacturers of super high-end bikes spread across Central Europe, making incredible work that deserves to be seen! Said Petor Georgallou, the show’s Creative Director. Adding, “we want to bring these makers to the fore and work with them, as well as a handful of larger and more established brands to bring European handmade and independent bike scene to a global audience”.
