The new Risse Racing Bachelor DD is a arch-less fat bike suspension fork rockin’ dual disc brakes.
The structure is essentially a single clamp version of the dual crown Trixie DH fork, but it does away with the arch connecting the two lower legs. Instead, it relies on a beefy clamp around a 15mm thru axle to keep everything in line. As shown, it’s only 100mm of travel, but they can go up to 150mm. And that’s only the beginning of the customization options…
A two-bolt clamp on either side locks the 15mm thru axle in place, and they say that’s enough to keep each side of the fork sliding in sync. If you’re not sold, they can make a 20mm version since they do all of their manufacturing in house.
To accommodate the fat bike tires it’s set up with 150mm axle spacing, but they can make it for 110mm for “plus” size tires.
You’ll have your choice of coil or air spring. The air version gets external compression and rebound adjustments.
The dual disc brake setup uses a Tektro hydraulic splitter and calipers, and it’s optional. They make them for Polaris’ pit bikes for Indy Car driver Helio Castronevis. The double brake is built with powerful e-bikes in mind, which have both the additional mass of big ass tires and battery and motor to reign in. Retail is $995 including the brake setup shown here. It drops to $695 for just the fork and axle built for single brake use.

Why is one of the rotors mounted backwards?
i bet the double brakes are because there is no cross link between the lower part of the forks.
Not a fatbike person, but glad that they offer 20mm in addition to the why bother 15mm size.
Nice catch, another question, is Tektro making a mirror image caliper? The brake cable routing seems identical, both from the top, on opposite calipers.

I bet Risse’s design moto was to make a fork so flexible it kills your first born, before you even have it. And it turns your 1x into a 3x then drink all your beer. Oh the humanity, why o why would they design it to do that!
That fork has twice as many brakes as I have on my entire fat bike! Snow does a pretty good job of slowing you down.

I sometimes see companies websites and wonder if someone has just left it running, when the company doesn’t exist any more, I assumed this about Risse, would be interested to know how many suspension units they’ve shifted in the last year!
Hmm, the fork is twisting horribly while braking. Solution: Add a brake to the other side.
This style of control is everywhere! If you don’t like the idea of two disc brakes on a front wheel of a bike, don’t get them. Just because you are a super hero on a bike that no one Has ever heard about, now you feel the need to call others all kinds of names!!!! Love your life and live it, allow others to do the same!

I sure am grateful that there are legit and experienced companies like risse making one offs for those customers who’s needs are totally forward thinking.
I came to find this product (and fondly remember the name risse racing from the mid-school mtb days) because I happen to HAVE a 80+ lb dual battery fat bike and the braking is NOT enough for the loaded camping gear, mountains of coastal northern California. Epic!
