World champion MotoGP racers Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez have partnered with Mondraker to create fully-functional kid-sized versions of their signature Grommy bikes.
Marquez Edition Grommy bikes for kids
The Mondraker Grommy Marquez is a balance bike with a twist — a Mondraker brushless motor.
The bikes are available in “Marc” red or “Alex” blue, sizes 12 (ages 3-5) or 16 (ages 5-8), and two distinct Mondraker models: Grommy ’93 or extra-old-school Grommy ’73.
Mondraker’s water-resistant 250w brushless motor powers both models. The 4Ah-18V/73Wh battery takes just 1 hour to charge all the way up and will provide little slayers between 45-70 minutes of runtime, depending on how hard they want to push it.
A twist-throttle allows kiddos to switch between three power modes, which will dictate how fast they can go. For the smaller 12″ Grommy, that’s 5 mph on the low end and 9 mph at full throttle. The 16″ Grommy shares the 5 mph bottom speed, but maxes out at a slightly more grown-up 11 mph.
Mondraker uses its super-light Stealth alloy in the frame and fork and fits its kids’ bikes with its traditional flat mount disc brake.
The frame is lifted straight off the brand’s full-sized in-line design and features rise dropouts. Cable routing for the rear disc brake is internal, there’s an integrated footrest.
Custom-cut motor and drivetrain protectors and a custom number plate (“93” or “73” depending on the model) round out the special-edition set.
