Osmo Rapid Recovery hits “golden window” for post-ride gains w/ protein & carbs

Osmo Nutrition announced a new recovery product in their lineup, Rapid Recovery. Meant to be taken in the 30-minute “golden window” after exercise, it contains a mix of two proteins, simple carbohydrates, and caffeine to maximize your workout gains.

Osmo got back to business in 2017, after an internal restructuring and brief hiatus from selling product. The new Rapid Recovery doesn’t replace their older Acute Recovery, but acts as a supplemental product in the line, with extra sugars and antioxidants for even faster recovery. Both products feature 15mg/serving of protein from whey and micellar casein, and a small amount of caffeine.

For the nitty-gritty details, we turn to Osmo:

  • Rapid Recovery uses two proteins proven to halt muscular breakdown post-workout. Whey is a fast-acting protein while casein is longer-lasting. The combination is highly effective, as fatigued muscles have both immediate and long-lasting access to amino acids (the building blocks of protein) to stimulate repair and growth.
  • The addition of simple carbohydrates maximizes muscle glycogen replenishment, promotes muscle growth and reduces muscle soreness, helping you to come back stronger and fresher for your next workout.
  • The small amount of caffeine with carbohydrates and protein has been shown to accelerate glycogen resynthesis by 66% over carbohydrates and protein alone.

Osmo Rapid Recovery comes in chocolate flavor only, and can be mixed with water or milk. It’s available in a 15-serving tub for an MSRP of $35.

there is a problem… the golden window doesn’t exist and has been debunked for around 10 to 15 years… it’s a pure training myth…

Not really. It all depends. If you ate before your workout with the right amount of carbs/fats/protein then you have more hours available post workout to eat and replenish. However, if you’re like me and wake up in the morning and workout on an empty stomach that “Golden window” is more crucial to eat post workout.
