We’ve spent a good bit of time riding the relatively untraveled back roads of central & eastern Europe. So, we’re a little partial to the Roadventures concept. Small Polish clothing & tour company Podia offer a number of fully-supported, affordable road riding trips that explore the road less taken. For their third year in 2018, Podia have trips around Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia & Italy, plus a new gravel trip out of their backyard.

Podia Roadventures, fully supported road bike travel trips

Because of their ‘Hidden Europe’ location & typically short 4 night trips, pricing tends to be surprisingly affordable for Podia’s road riding trips – ranging from 950-1450€ per person depending on location. So, for 2018 Podia will head into the roads of the Julian Alps between Slovenia & Italy Jun 6-10, the Tatra Mountains between Poland & Slovakia Jun 13-17, and for a bit longer into the Carpathians between Poland & Slovakia Aug 6-12.

Podia Gravelventure, new fully supported gravel bike trip

New for spring 2018, Podia will head out for four days of gravel riding in their first Gravelventure trip. Close to their Kraków base it takes it heads into the Lower Beskidy Mountains in southern Poland. From a single basecamp riders spend four nights from May 23-27 exploring forest & field roads of Beskid Niski on the 800€ trip. Podia founder Max Burgess has been a fan of mixed surface bikepacking for some time. And he’s happy to share that passion. Now organizing a trip so riders get in on a European gravel adventure without sweating the details. Just show up, ride, and enjoy.

Podia limits all road riding trips to a small group of about 6-8 riders, plus support crew. The routes are designed to suit a wide range of regular cycling skill levels. But they tend to lean towards adventure and fun, rather than a hammerfest. Check out the routes, find out more, and reserve a spot at Roadventures’ website.
