Even if you’re not into full suspension Mayhem, Spot Bikes may still have a carbon bike for you to check out. That’s especially true if you’re into modern carbon hardtails with clearance for big tires and internal dropper posts. Better still, the new Carbon Rocker will give you the option of running geared or single speed (including belt drive) for all the drivetrain options.

Adding to the Rocker family, the Carbon version utilizes carbon fiber to get the weight down to 2.8lbs at the lowest. For frame specifications, you’ll find a ZS44/ZS56 tapered headtube on a front end meant for 100-130mm travel forks, a 73mm BSA threaded bottom bracket, and a 148 x 12mm rear thru axle.

The 31.6mm seat tube is meant to accept internally routed dropper posts.

The frames also include updated geometry with steeper seat tubes at 75.5° and fairly slack 67° head tube angles. These numbers may vary slightly since the bike can run up to 29 x 2.4″ or 27.5 x 2.8″ tires.

Out back is a new modular dropout system that has a split in the chainstay to allow for belt-drive use. The adjustable dropout allows belts or chains to be tensioned, but in this case it tensions the limited-edition Carbon Drive Red belt.

Of course, that dropout system can also be used with a hanger for gears so the Carbon Rocker will be offered in either configuration. The Carbon Rocker Geared will be sold in 29 or 27.5 Plus with four builds starting at $3,499 and weights as low as 21.3lbs.

The Carbon Rocker SS will also be sold in 29 or 27.5 Plus builds with three options starting at $3,299 and weights as low as 19.7lbs!

Bikes will be available for demo at Spot HQ in Golden, Colorado starting on August 10th on a limited basis. Along with the Carbon Rocker, all Spot bikes now have a lifetime warranty effective Jan. 1st, 2020.

Interesting… Frame only option too. Would go nice with an ENVE fork. Carbon fork. Carbon frame. Carbon Drive. Nice!

Awesome frame, but can you still charge 2k for a hardtail frame? I would gladly pay the premium if I were making a single speed race bike though.

The dropper and fork must add some weight.
I have a geared C’dale Flash that’s 19.7lb with pedals.
I’d have thought that subtracting the drivetrain they’d be flirting with 19lbs.
