Other than the visibly different tread pattern and “3C’ scrawled on the side, there’s no definite information available on these new tires yet. They’re being tested by Pivot Cycles Factory Team’s World Cup riders aboard the new Pheonix DH bike introduced earlier this year.
The tread pattern is unlike anything else in their current lineup, and the tread blocks use a variety of steps and ramps that should make for a very fast rolling knobby with flat rear ends to dig in during braking. Well supported side knobs should hold their own on the corners and off camber sections. Written in market on the sidewall was “3C”, likely a reference to their triple compound rubber.
Word is this tire does already have a model name, but people weren’t talkin’. More pics below…
