We’re in Hartford, CT, at the USA Cycling CX National Championships and there are plenty of new parts and pro bikes to see. Kicking things off are bike checks with Tobin Ortenblad and Jeremy Powers, and there’s more to come. It’ll be interesting to see how their tire selection changes for Sunday’s main event. While the conditions have changed (not improved, BTW), it’s worth a look at how some of the earlier races turned into a slip-n-slide. Sadly, that part of the course has been removed. Meanwhile, out in presumably warmer Las Vegas, the CES show has produced plenty of bicycle tech. Polar and Garmin both launched new wearables, Fisher Price has a trainer for kids, and LeEco has smart road and mountain bikes. Check all of that out here. We also found tech outside the show, including the SpeedX Unicorn bike with integrated power measurement and a patent for auto-aligning rear derailleurs.
