We’ve got some more Brooks England news, sorta. This news comes hot on the heels of Brooks’ announcement of the new B17 Utmost. But, with this news, Minneapolis, Minnesota’s Wilde Bikes collaborates with Brooks to release their own Wilde X Brooks B17 Special Bordeaux. The saddle will be in a rare Bordeaux color to coincide with the pending availability of their similarly colored Spelljammer Rando bike. It’s going to look sick.
I’m both a massive Brooks B17 fan and am madly in love with my personal Wilde Rambler SL. So, I’m excited for the release of this saddle and the release of the Spelljammer framesets next month (I may have one in my sights).
The new Wilde x Brooks B17 saddle uses a small run of dead stock leather B17 tops. Not only are the saddle tops a really cool, rare color, but they also sport thicker leather. Apparently, the latter has become sought after by leather saddle “aficionados” (snobs).
The saddles will have copper rails and hand-hammered rivets, just like the features of a standard B17 Special. I mean, just think: Copper rails, a Bordeaux colored top, and hand-hammered rivets? ¡Sí, por favor!

Here’s the bummer, though: only 60 will be available, so you’re going to need to act fast to procure yourself one of these lil’ beauties. You know, it’s my opinion, that these types of things and paying attention to these types of details are the lil’ joys that make building up a bike so personal.
