This week finished strong with Tyler’s holiday wish list, our first Friday Yard Sale video (where we recap the week’s tech and product news, quickly and over a beer), and wild rim brake test from Alto Cycling and Spark Wheelworks where they melted brake tracks. The rest of the week was solid, too, with wish lists from Zach, Anna and Cory, too, and more.
We saw wide new mountain bike carbon rims from Reynolds and Whisky, offering mountain bikers a more affordable option (Reynolds) and a wider option for plus and mid-fat bikes (Whisky). Speaking of wheels, we also answered the question “Should you buy custom built wheels?” in our weekly AASQ series, and Pacenti launched an entirely new wheel lineup to go with their revamped website.
For reviews, we brought back the suspension stem with our ShockStop review. Don’t worry, it’s good, and a far cry from the abominations of the past. And if you like toys even when you’re off the bike, check our review of the Traxxas Slash R/C truck, it’s good fun!
One last thing worth calling out: Jamis has downsized their Renegade gravel adventure road bike to fit kids, which means it’s not just mountain bikes that are getting the pro-quality treatment for youth. Exciting times to be a kid! Now, here’s all the posts from this past week…
